Acrylic fabrics are made of synthetic fibres and are widely used for socks, sweaters, pyjamas, and many other garments we all use on a daily basis. This material is popular thanks to its durability and low maintenance. It is also broadly used for blankets, upholstery and even luggage bags.
As with most materials, acrylic clothing comes in acrylic blends and 100% acrylic fabrics. Sweaters that are 100% acrylic, can be washed in the laundry machine using a gentle cycle and cold or warm water. However, you should always check the care label of the fabric since some garments may be labelled as ‘’dry cleaning only’’.

Cleaning and maintenance of Uggs and other sheepskin boots
Cosy season is here and now is the perfect time to snuggle at home, wear some warm clothes and enjoy quality time with your friends and family. Ugg boots are a favourite addition to many people’s autumn and winter lives. These shoes are extra soft, lightweight and very comfortable. However, they require some extra attention, cleaning, and care.
The soft exterior of the boots, often suede, can easily become stained, scuffed, or simply dusty. While this would be the obvious problem that needs resolving, the inside of the shoes (especially those with thick fleece), also needs some TLC.
While some of the shoes that are made of synthetic materials and only resemble sheepskin can be machine-washed, those with real sheepskin must only be hand-washed. You should never attempt anything that is not suitable for the particular material of your shoes since damage and discolouration may occur.
Follow the instructions below to properly clean your Ugg (or other real sheepskin) boots.

Pink mould. What causes it and how to remove it
Pink mould often occurs in showers and tubs. If you have noticed such pink stains in your bathroom, that’s probably the case. Despite its name, pink mould is actually not mould at all. In fact, it is an overgrowth of a bacteria called Serratia marcescens. This is an airborne bacteria that thrives in damp, warm places. The colonies of this bacteria secrete a protein called prodigiosin and that is exactly what gives it its distinctive colour. Even though you may often see the pink residue in your bathroom, it is sometimes orange or even red.
The good news is that pink mould is not dangerous for your health, unlike black mould which can harm you in many ways. It is more of a cleaning issue and can only harm the good looks of your bathroom.
